Trillium Woods is a Silver LEED-certified Life Plan Community. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is an ecology-oriented building certification program run by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

To earn LEED certification, the USGBC looks at the way a building is designed, built and run operationally. It outlines the general building and design features from the materials used to the efficiency of the fixtures and even to the chemicals used at the community.
