Trillium Woods Steps Up for Parkinson’s Awareness

Residents and team members at Trillium Woods came together for a 9-hour fitness marathon, working toward a shared goal of 120,000 steps in support of those living with Parkinson’s Disease. The event, “Pump It Up for Parkinson’s,” was held in the community’s Healthy Lifestyle Center and showcased the power of movement in managing Parkinson’s symptoms.

Participants signed up for 15-minute increments on the NuStep machine, building momentum and raising awareness throughout the day. The initiative aligned with World Parkinson’s Day and highlighted the importance of exercise in supporting overall wellness.

Trillium Woods Fitness Manager Sam Lefaive and several residents shared their inspiration for taking part, as the community rallied around a cause that touches nearly one million Americans.

According to the Parkinson’s Foundation, Parkinson’s is the second-most common neurodegenerative disease in the U.S., with more than 21,000 individuals affected in the Minnesota and Dakotas region alone. Events like this help shine a light on both the challenges and opportunities for empowerment through healthy living.

Fox 9 reporter Se Kwon came out to broadcast live for our Pump It Up for Parkinson’s event.
