Meet Trillium Woods leadership team.

Joseph “Joe” Amend-Marshall has over 20 years of senior living experience having held a variety of roles in different areas. Joe is a licensed nursing home administrator and assisted living director and holds a Master of Arts degree in Health & Human Service Administration from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. Joe is very passionate about what it means to age “well” and how living in a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) impacts the process. He also finds great satisfaction in providing exceptional service to our residents as well as building a very cohesive and effective team. Originally from Evansville, Indiana, Joe has been a Twin Cities resident for 25 winters now!

Samantha Paider joined The Birches at Trillium Woods in March 2022 serving as the Nursing Home Administrator.  Samantha obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in Health Care Administration and holds several state licenses in Assisted Living and Nursing Home Administration.  During the last five years, she has worked primarily with LCS in nursing home leadership roles throughout the country.  Samantha is primarily responsible for health center day-to-day operations, fiscal oversight, resident satisfaction, and regulatory compliance. Paider brings her experience, passion for serving seniors, and dedication to the Trillium Woods team.

Kim Twigg joined the Trillium Woods finance team as director of accounting in June 2018. Kim has been in the accounting field for over 20 years. She has led accounting teams in a variety of industries, including transportation, warehousing, restaurant, HVAC and beauty supplies. Kim has a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of South Florida in Tampa.

Rita backs up the executive director and supervises the reception and concierge services provided at Trillium Woods. She has been with Trillium Woods since 2012 and takes the lead for the business office.

Andrew joined Trillium Woods in the Fall of 2021. With 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having worked as Executive Chef in local high-end restaurants and as Culinary Director at an Independent Living / Assisted Living community in the Twin Cities.  Andrew also attended California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, California. Execution of high-quality service and culinary experience for residents in multiple dining venues at Trillium Woods requires experience and high energy. Andrew is dedicated to achieving and exceeding residents’ expectations.

Laurie has been with Trillium Woods since 2014. She is responsible for the coordination of social activities and events that are identified by residents of Trillium Woods. Communication is key to a successful and responsive program of multiple activities and topics.  A newsletter and web-based in-house network form the foundation for this communication.

Cari has been a registered nurse for 18 years, with 24 years’ overall experience working in senior living. She is passionate about caring for clients, providing exceptional customer service and care. Most recently, she was a director of MDS and RN case manager responsible for the clinical assessment of all residents in long-term and transitional care at The Villa of St. Louis Park. Prior to that position, she worked at North Ridge Care Center in New Hope for several years. She is AANAC-certified in MDS and certified in geriatrics.

Jon has more than 40 years of culinary experience, most recently at a private golf club. His passion for food presentation is about big, bold flavors and features local sustainable foods during the various seasons of the year to enhance the dining experience of residents at Trillium Woods. Working with his culinary associates, the menus he and Matt create reflect a wide range of choice and tastes.

NeKenya has been with Trillium Woods since its preopening in 2015. She has been in the environmental services business for over 15 years in a leadership role representing health care communities in the Twin Cities area. Trillium Woods residents enjoy weekly housekeeping and flat laundry services, which under NeKenya’s direction are done expertly and responsively to residents’ wishes.

Cory has been with Trillium Woods since its pre-opening in 2015 and brings 20 years of experience in senior housing to Trillium Woods. He is responsible for providing a high level of service for engineering, maintenance and repair tasks involving resident homes and throughout the community. He ensures that services are provided in an efficient, cost-effective and expedient manner. He’s responsible for all the systems that provide a comfortable and safe environment for Trillium Woods residents. He’s also responsible for the maintenance of all residences inside and out, the clubhouse and the grounds, so they function flawlessly and are immaculately maintained.

Joshua has been in the health care industry for over 30 years. He has earned his BSN, and MSN with a focus on Nursing Leadership and Management and is also a certified Assisted Living director.
